I think not. Way more produced and heaps of people hoarding them on each release. There are literally thousands of case fresh modern figures sitting around waiting to accumulate in value. People are hoping it will happen in the same way as with the original films which of course it won't. Let's not forget that the modern movies sucked arse. As a kid I wouldnt be getting too nostalgic over a suck arse film and go about collecting the toys again. Fair point on a few of the potf 2 series and a few exceptions granted.

It worked with the originals because not only were the films great but the fact that they brought about significant change in the toy and merchandising industry as a result. It had simply never been done before on that scale and in that way.

The modern figures are ten to the dozen. I've lost count of the amount of job lot auctions I've seen on eBay of modern carded figures.

well i think they will be one day as modern figures now will be childhood memorys for todays kids as you know when you hit arround 30 to 40 years old we all go soft in the head
and heart strings pull when we see those childhood toy's we used to have

I dont think modern toys will ever be worth any more than waht they sell for now except for the odd few like the darth revans and malaks etc.
Toys are more affordable and more pletiful these days and most kids have much more than most of us ever had as a kid so the attachement to a certain line of toys is not that strong.
Plus the sw toys were the first toys to bring the 3 3/4 action figure into the world which was ground breaking and on top of that the films were like nothing seen before where as these days CGI etc is all too common place in films.
The only toy line available atm that i see doing well on the secondary market in years to come is the Ben 10 toy line.

there are 2 in ebay right now ....but as you can see those ones ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE FROM SDCC.... AFA is wrong again as the label reads that are SDCC exclusive, they don´t have the same front .as this one is the correct Comic-con exclusive, San Diego 2006 , lucasfilm crew told me that this ones were given to the crew only and the other ones to the 200 persons from the 501st legion that marched in the "tournament of roses parade" .....
