| As long as older figs ie; 1977-85 vintage are around and easily available, i can't see the more modern runs ever being worth much scratch. That's just my take on it. If they're ever gonna be worth proper money i think you have at least a 20-30 year wait. I mean, most ROTJ stuff is still cheap as chips. |

| I don’t think the POTF2 figures will EVER be worth decent money... Same with Ep1 2 and 3 Maybe the cartoony clone figures will hold their money, as they are different to all the other modern stuff. I think there are soo many people hoarding any new star wars stuff, its the same with modern Corgi cars- I know people who have boxes and boxes of unopened limited edition of 100000 crap and they think they will one day have a fortune because the 60's stuff is (was- they have taken a hit over the last five years) worth good money. Its supply and demand, and with modern collecting the supply will far outweigh demand. In short, if they were mine, I would say open it up and play with, I mean display in an adult way! |

| I admit to knowing nothing about Corgi stuff, tho there was a cool program about them on tv recently. With James May. |

| On the potf2 side of things I'd say the only ones that will be worth anything are the ones that are pricey now like the half and full circle bobafett and weaquay mocs |

| Maybe, but whereas "run of the mill" unopened vintage figures are worth good money, I can't ever see modern run of the mill being worth a fat lot. |

What he said.
Modern stuff has cascaded over the market like a tsunami flooding collections to breaking point. Modern stuff will never be worth anything only a very few hard to get items as described, the only winners here are LFL and Hasbro. Only collect modern stuff if you like it and want it for display purposes only. The main figures if any that seem to be commanding a slightly higher price atm are some Astromech Droids and some Clone Troopers. |

| In 20 years time when a collector is looking for a MOC Saga Vader there will plenty available to satisfy demand so I can ever see modern becoming valuable per say as supply will never out weigh demand. |

| The figures that seem to hold value are ones which come with ships. So as mentioned there are certain astromechs that fetch a good price. Other than that, army builders, anything people want a lot of are a good bet.
I tend to just get the figures I like and that is all.
currently there are certain of the Build a droid figures that are going for a good price as the pieces to build these only came with some really duff figures.

| you have a long wait, keep seeing really high graded ones selling for about £20, may be worth buying to hide away for a few decades if you,ve got space |

| All depends what the figure is and the availability.....the Lucas Stormy and pilot fetches a good price carded, concept General Grievous in star case is one rare bugger, EP 1 R2-B1 and Amidala Ascension gun are on the way to be really sought after, most of the 30th Anniversary Force Unleashed Expanded Universe wave are going for £20-£40 minty...a few variant Saga's and Saga transitional figures sell £20 upwards...probably many of these will hold and increase in value in the future..but won't reach the standard of the 12 or 20 backs, no way.
The things that will sell well in the future are the limited editions, Sideshow exclusives and Gentle Giant gear, the investment collectors market is now geared towards the top end statue, 12"figures and bust's...just look at the Delta Squad limited busts...that's where the future lies. |
