Can somebody clear up this up for me,

With the POTF line am I right in thinking there was only the last 17 that came on these cardbacks, I know the whole line of figures was released on TRI-logo cards was this also the case with POTF.

There is very little info on the POTF line.

No mate, a couple of the ewoks came on rotj cards and a fair few rotj figures came on potf cards too.
