PostSubject: Squid Head and its varients   Tue Jan 19, 2010 4:51 am

I have taken this from the SWCC ebay forum. What I'd really like is for Jules to pick it up and re-write it for us here Wink But if not, it gives a good example of what we're looking for in the Archives of Ossus Very Happy

Squid Heads:

HK COO:
Regular grey/brown cape (very common)
Brown cape (easy to get)
Dark brown cape (reasonably easy to get)
Green cape (reasonably easy to get)
Pale Orange cape (tough to get, but not super-rare)
Extra-long Green cape (very tough to get - haven't seen very many of these at all)
Extra-long Brown cape (very tough to get - only seen three of them in three years...)

Scarred-out COO:
Dark brown cape (very tough to get...only seen 1 or 2 in the last 5 years!)

No COO (Lili Ledy):
Red cape / Burgundy cape (hard to get in mint condition, but certainly not ultra-rare)
Dark brown cape (surprisingly easy to get, as it was available on Kenner 77-back cards in the US)

Now, back to the orange capes:
HK COO: Pale Orange
No COO: Bright Orange
No COO: Orange

I'm 99% certain that the No COO Orange Cape versions are fake. This is due to the fact that no-one has ever seen one carded, or in a baggie, or as a sample figure; no-one ever saw one when they were new either.
These two versions of Orange first showed up around 3+ years ago, mostly from well-known scammers on eBay...

Have a read of this old thread if you are interested, it expands on the rarity of the extra-long brown cape squid.

Sure there are disbelievers on the whole orange etc cape issue, so make up your own mind, but please do not tell me this fella was once a purple cape varaiant What a Face laugh loud

From left,

1) Extra Long Brown cape

2) Interesting half way house between no. 1 & 3 I picked up

3) orange cape (the fabric is very different to no. 1 & 2)

4) Lili Ledy

5) MIM Squid (hey they look very different to no 4.)

6) standard HK
